The problem with multimedia laptops is that you always feel as if you have to trade off something to get something else. If you want a big screen and speakers, then you'll need to lug around a heavy computer. If you want a lighter laptop that still packs a multimedia punch, you'll have to give up screen size or even major components. For years laptop manufacturers have been looking for that holy grail—a solution that can provide a full-featured multimedia experience in a lightweight package. ASUS may not have found it with its ASUS N81Vp-C1 ($1,299 list), but it's gotten pretty darn close.
